Northcentral Technical College (NTC) chose Dascom to integrate a multimedia presentation system into their boardroom in Wausau, Wisconsin that would enhance functionality of board meetings without distracting from the room’s professional appearance.

“I wanted a simple, clean room design that would not require my staff to spend time setting up equipment prior to meetings,” said Tim Dunbar, Instructional Technology Coordinator at Northcentral Technical College.

Main components of the newly installed system include:

• • • Two 47″ LCD display panels with motorized ceiling lift
    • Two 60″ HD plasma display panels
    • Hand-held wireless portable room controller
    • Audio system with ceiling microphones

Results
The result of the integration is a high-end multimedia presentation system that is a departure from previous systems which typically included wired desktop touch panels, tabletop microphones and an LCD cart to be rolled out and connected when used. In addition, the boardroom technology now has functionality and control for four main modes of operation including: Open (live audio, no video); Open with Presentation (live audio and video); Closed (no audio or video); and Closed with Presentation (audio off, video on).

“Users have liked how the integrated technology works within the room,” Dunbar stated. “They appreciate its simplicity and the four modes of operation that are possible with the system- allowing how the room will be used to determine the technology- not the other way around.”
