AT DAKTEL COMMUNICATIONS
Dascom integrated an exceptional system to Daktel Communications that enables a bundled triple-play offering of video and data services, and includes ProgramView monitoring system

JAMESTOWN, N.D. August 27, 2004- With the recent addition of digital video services at Daktel Communications by Dascom Systems Group (DSG), a systems integration firm headquarted in Woodbury, Minnesota, Daktel joins a small group of telephone companies nationally to offer its customers live television and interactive entertainment over a digital subscriber line network carried on a fiber optic backbone.  

With bundled voice, data and Internet services over one line and on one bill, Daktel looks to discover a new revenue source while consumers get a response to their growing demands for more interactivity and content choice in TVs and PCs.

Within the installed system is new product ProgramView, an exceptional central monitoring system for digital headend control manufactured by Eastview Industries.  At Daktel, ProgramView replaces the complicated manual patching and push-button switching normally used at other telephone companies for digital headend monitoring. Revolutionary in design, the control system features user-definable channel designators, single button selection, flexible alarms, remote operation and streaming test and measurement.  Most importantly, it creates a virtual “remote control” panel for their system operation.
