IPTV FOR ENTERTAINMENT TELEVISION
In order for telephone companies to continue to compete in the marketplace, they are looking to add IPTV to their existing voice and data services, and bundle the three services for a "triple play" offering.

Dascom provides telephone companies with a high-definition aggregated solution through IP Prime HD-4, and enables those telephone companies to use existing fiber and/or DSL lines to provide video services to their subscribers.

With systems that include satellite receive systems, cable television equipment, MPEG2 and MPEG4 encoding equipment, VDSL systems, and IPTV transmission equipment, our systems are provisioned in a cost-effective manner for optimum signal quality and reliability. It is always our goal to offer an IPTV system that is simple to operate and manage.

To date, Dascom has built and integrated approximately 60 stand-alone video headends nationwide.

System Planning
Dascom considers several important factors when evaluating the feasibility of offering high-speed data and video delivery to your customer base. The following will be evaluated:

> Power and HVAC requirements and programming sources

System Staging and On-Site Integration
At Dascom, we stage your digital headend at our headquarters in Woodbury, Minnesota, reducing on-site installation time dramatically while ensuring optimal system quality and performance. The staging and integration process includes the following:
> Assembly of equipment cabinets
> Rack-mounting of electronics
> Installation/labeling of all rack wiring and electronic equipment
> Programming of MPEG encoders
> Assignment of IP addresses to MPEG encoders
> Testing of the system as a stand-alone unit
> Installation of system
